SYHO

About SYHO:

WHAT? SYHO 'Signing Youth Hanging Out'
FUN? We’ll have billiards, movies, table games, the gym (& sports equipment), etc.  Some days we’ll even dance. You choose.

FOOD? Yes.  Probably not enough for dinner, but we’ll always have something.

FRIENDS? Sure, bring your friends—as long as they are in Jr. HS or HS and can communicate signing. (Don't know ASL? No problem as long as they are willing to try! We'll teach you when we can!)

WHEN?
1st and 3rd Fridays of every month

TIME? 6:30-9:30pm

WHERE? Sanderson Community Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

(SCCDHH or The Deaf Center) 5709 S 1500 W Taylorsville

COST: Free (Most of the time)

WHY? Because this is a great way to encourage youth to get out of the house on a Friday night to be with old friends, meet new friends and learn something new in a good environment.

WHAT ELSE? Youth are expected to show respect and good behavior towards one another at SYHO.
We strive to keep the environment comfortable for all.

NOTE TO PARENTS:

SYHO is a great place for youth to come out and get to know each other, while learning good social skills.
They are required to sign in so that we can keep a count for our records.
We do not require youth to sign out, however. If they decide to leave early--we do not stop them.
This is not a babysitting service--they are teenagers and are expected to be respectful towards their peers and leaders.
We always have at least two adult supervisors at SYHO.
If you have any questions regarding your youth, please contact us and we'll talk about what we can do to help.
