SYHO Director, Preston Gudmunson
Preston has been working with Deaf, hard of hearing and hearing youth (ages 11-19) since 2002, serving in various capacities. In addition to working for SYHO, he currently teaches Jr.HS/HS at the Jean Massieu School for the Deaf in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is also the Co-Director for 'Signs On The Trail' annual Race. Preston loves sports, the great outdoors, science, music and has a passion for teaching. He enjoys being with the youth, teaching them and helping them to want to accomplish goals in their life. Preston is responsible for the directing and planning of all SYHO activities and is usually always present at the events.
SYHO Director, Sarah Gudmunson
Sarah has been working with Deaf, hard of hearing and hearing youth (ages 12-19) since 2001, serving in various capacities. In addition to working with SYHO, she also works at home and also has two children. She is the office manager for SYHO, whatQGA & DeafAbility as well as a Co-Director for the 'Signs On The Trail' Annual race. Sarah loves cooking, laughing, sports and to see a finished project! She enjoys being with the youth, helping to plan activities for them and seeing them grow.
Sanderson Community Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (SCCDHH)
We have partnered with SCCDHH so that SYHO is able to use their facitlity. SCCDHH, located in Taylorsville, Utah, has a large building with plenty of parking, a big field, Gym, offices & classrooms. They even have a BBQ area available for use. SCCDHH also helps to provide volunteers for SYHO when needed. Visit their website for more information: deafservices.utah.gov/
Sego Liliy Center for the Abused Deaf (SLCAD)
SLCAD provides 'Deaf Teen Power Talks' (DTPT) Evey 1st SYHO. These DTPT's consist of role-playing, group discussions about teenager topics, social interaction and team games.
