SYHO

Volunteering is a great way to get involved while helping to support a great cause. SYHO often
requires the help of volunteers. Volunteers often help with:

  • Equipment Setup
  • Interacting with the youth, playing games & socializing
  • Some simple food prep
  • Taking Roll
  • Sending out reminders to the mailing list
  • Acting as a leader and taking responsibility
  • Other miscellaneous responsiblities

Volunteers may be required to go through Sanderson Community Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing's (SCCDHH) background process. By signing up to work with SYHO, you can also sign up to help at SCCDHH as well.

Volunteers need to be either fluent in ASL or taking ASL classes and are expected to sign while participating. We strive to keep the environment very friendly to any deaf and hard of hearing present.

If you are interested in volunteering, please send us a message and include the following information:

  1. Your Name
  2. Whether you are Deaf/HoH or Hearing
  3. Your ASL level
  4. Have you volunteered for SYHO, whatQGA, ADC or SCCDHH?
  5. Are you enrolled in any ASL classes? If yes, where and who is your instructor?
  6. Will you be getting school credit for volunteering?
  7. How often do you want to volunteer?

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST!
